PALU. 4 volunteers of Rumah Zakat carried out joint action with Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) and Korem (Military Research Command) in evacuation of bodies on Monday (01/10) in BTN area, Petobo Village, South Palu District, Palu, Central Sulawesi.
In the evacuation, the team found 6 bodies of earthquake victims. “There were 500 houses in BTN housing when the evacuation was found 6 bodies. Victims’ identities are still being identified by experts, “said Nurmansyah Volunteer of Rumah Zakat.
The evacuation process at BTN housing has started since September 30, within the period of evacuation, 12 bodies were found. The total number reached 18 bodies.
Housing in the Petobo area has changed dramatically into hills. A flat highway and a large housing location can no longer be seen because the asphalt splits and rolls up what’s on top.
So that the existing sightings are land or asphalt above the house, changes in the surface of the highway become 8 meters higher than the original state.
“You can imagine a blender, like that the earthquake rolled up the petobo area. Many victims were pinned on the asphalt and squeezed home. The foundation below becomes above, “explained Nurman.
Rumah Zakat team is already in the location ready to distribute aid from the community to the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Central Sulawesi.
