BANDUNG. (30/11) The rain that hit Indonesia in recent days has caused flooding in some areas, such as in Bantul and Gunung Kidul in Yogyakarta, Pacitan Regency in East Java, Kapuas Hulu in West Kalimantan, East Lombok in West Nusa Tenggara, and Bandang Liwa in West Lampung.
Many road accesses are cut off and flooding conditions are diverse encouraging residents in various areas to evacuate.
The flood disaster then followed by the eruption of Mount Agung which continues to increase so that the status becomes Alert which is the highest status for volcano (level 4) since Monday (27/11).
Not only that, more than 700 houses in Sidoarjo East Java are also damaged by the tornado that occurred on Wednesday (22/11).
In response to a number of disasters, Rumah Zakat through the Disaster Responnse Action program is working to provide the best relief and assistance to the affected people.
A total of 66 volunteers have been deployed to assist the evacuation and distribution of logistics in the disaster area.
“The need for food, clothing, drinking water, public kitchens and shelters is the focus of the assistance we provide in addition to evacuation,” said Herlan Wilandariansyah, Volunteer Coordinator of Rumah Zakat Center.
“Currently, a team of volunteers from Surabaya is sending 10 additional shelters for Mount Agung eruption in Bali,” he added.
