BATAM. (20/10). The high level of unemployment number and daily needs to live in Indonesia seemed to be a problem that continues to be protracted. Considering this emergency condition, Bank Indonesia synergized with RZ to invite local people for implementing organic catfish cultivation and urban farming program.
The program is implemented at Mangsang Permai Blok C RW 01, Kelurahan Mangsang, Kecamatan Sei Beduk, Batam. Through this program, Bank Indonesia and RZ try to empower local people in Mangsang who most of them are working as farmer, laborer, and even some of them were unemployed.
There were thousands of catfish breeds, kale, tomato, cucumber, chili, and spinach seed to be distributed. Through this program, the beneficiaries received business capital assistance, regular business mentoring, and Islamic mentoring.
“I’d like to say thank to Bank Indonesia and RZ for the assistance. We hope that we could become a successful catfish farmer,” Deran, a beneficiary, said. ***
