Volunteers of RZ Bekasi visited Mrs. Nijah (41) at his home in Kampung Pulo Gede Jalan Cendana 14 in RT 05 RW 11 villages Jakasampurna, Bekasi Barat on Friday (13/01) at 17:00 pm. Her residence is quite close to Basecamp of RZ Bekasi’s Volunteer. Bu Nijah familiarly called by citizens around as Mpok Hamdah.
Rz Volunteers visit to her residents intends to distribute Dhuafa parcels in the form of food, snacks, cleaning supplies, rice, cooking oil, soy sauce, eggs, milk, sardines, biscuits, syrup, toothpaste, detergent, soap, etc. Dhuafa parcel came from the help of volunteers and proceeds of BBLP (Sharing Clothes Worth Wear).
When volunteers visited, Mrs. Nijah lived alone with housing conditions are very poor and uninhabitable. 90 percent of the roof is damaged from the effects of a fire one year ago, the foundation of the building looked old and frail, some even already collapsed. When it rains, automatically the house flooded and wet, piles of trash visible on the kitchen side, so a lot of mosquitoes and the smell less pleasant in some rooms.
According to Mrs. Nijah, the waste she used as fuel for cooking stoves, becauses he did not dare use a gas stove as a result of trauma. Ms. Nijah husband had died 14 years ago, now Mrs. Nijah not work anymore and sickly condition, while her three children lived with grandmother.
“Alhamdulillah, I am very happy to deck, very grateful get assistance from RZ volunteers” said Mrs Nijah excited. She also hopes that in the future there are donors who can help hermainly to repair her house.
