YOGYAKARTA. Wednesday (04/10), the mothers are trying to practice the Ecoprint that they already obtained and build the material they will bring at the exhibition at Jogja Expo Center on 12-16. Previously, these mothers have followed the training guided by Ms. Nuci and the Empowered Village Facilitator of Rumah Zakat in Kel. Brontokusuman on Thursday, (28/09).
Eco. J stands for Ecoprint Jogja is the name used as a brand of products to be exhibited. In the preparation of materials for the exhibition, these mothers had a few days earlier been looking for the foliage to be used as a natural dye in the Ecoprint process.
Excitedly, everyone worked deftly to produce about 10 pieces of silk-retained fabric. Beginning with the preparation and conditioning stages of the cloth by dipping it in vinegar air then held in a flat place. Further dye materials such as leaves and flowers with a motive according to taste, cloth rolled and tied for the process of steaming.
After that the steaming process for 2 hours. After steaming wear and aerated until cool and dry.
To further bind the color, the cloth was soaked back to the concentration of vinegar for 5 minutes then dried. Once the process is finished the fabric can be ironed in order to color effect stronger.
