SOLO. Wednesday (03/01/2017) Nutrition Garden Program in Jebres District started from Dusun Ngemplak Sutan, Kel. Mojosongo, Jebres, Solo in 2013.
“Initially only the Clean and Healthy Behavior program (PHBS), then we see there are other opportunities for this region. So, we begin to create a nutrition garden, “said Anto, Empowered Village Facilitator of Rumah Zakat for Mojosongo.
Initially, the Nutrition School program consists of family heads, and currently, its members have reached 50 people. However, in 2016 formed a women farmer group consisting of housewives. According to Anto, this is one of the efforts to empower the role of housewives in building the village where she lives.
The farmer group of 10 housewives, has now begun to bear fruit. Various kinds of vegetables ranging from mustard greens, eggplant, pariah, chili, flower cabbage, white mustard, until the cabbage have begun to be harvested and the results can save their spending money.
After four years of being accompanied, Ngemplak Sutan has been transformed into an organic Vegetable Village that is capable of self-sufficient community and sufficient vegetable needs of its citizens.
“Alhamdulillah because of this Nutrition Garden Program, our hamlet is visited by many local and national governments, and even the city government also provides various collaboration opportunities through the National Food Supply, City Agriculture Office, and Health Department,” said Anto.
