PONOROGO. Her name is Katini (55 Yrs), Kikek she familiarly called, a grandmother who has never been married since the age of 13 years living with he sister’s house in Morosari Village, Sukorejo, Ponorogo.
Having a seizure when she was 7 months old makes her right body paralyzed. Do not want to be a burden to her sister, everyday Kikek make money by selling teak leaves then she sell it to the tempe craftsmen in Morosari, Sukorejo, Ponorogo.
At other times, she is allowed to take free rice husk at Morosari rice mill to be sold per sack of Rp 3,000. If buyers are kind, sometimes Kikek given 5000 rupiah for her services carrying a sack of husk to her customer’s home.
“Often passing my house, Kikek sometimes offers services pulling out grass or watering the flowers in my yard. Kikek, often asks me about religion and light things in women life.”Said Amah Hida, Facilitator of Rumah Zakat
When given 2 cans of Superqurban corned beef by Hida, Kikek looks enthusiastic and ask about how to cook it. “I never counted if there is a distribution of qurban meat, because I stay in my sister’s house, This is the first time I receive qurban meat, though the shape is different, I never knew. Thank you, Rumah Zakat “, said Kikek with tears in her eyes.
