BANDUNG. Based on the Decree of the Governor of West Nusa Tenggara No. 360-686 Year 2018 which sets Emergency Transition Status to Emergency Recovery and Repair Due to Earthquake Natural Disasters on Lombok and Sumbawa Islands for 6 (six) months, starting from 26 August 2018 to 26 February 2019, then the rehabilitation and reconstruction process in Lombok has begun . Responding to this decision, Rumah Zakat began mapping the assistance given to the recovery and improvement of Lombok’s condition.
“We designed the 6 (six) main programs during this rehabilitation period, namely the construction of shelters, the establishment of Emergency Schools, the establishment of Emergency Mosques, the provision of health services and health fleets, providing and mentoring business capital for earthquake affected people and also providing Food Aid,” explained Rumah Zakat Crisis Center, Andri Murdianto.
At present, the rehabilitation and reconstruction program designed by Rumah Zakat has begun. “Emergency schools have started operating, as well as the Emergency Mosque. For the shelter, the development process has begun, hopefully each family will have a decent temporary place to live, “said Andri.
Tuesday, August 28 2018, Rumah Zakat also sent back 5 (five) trucks of assistance to Lombok. The aid sent in the form of logistics and food aid, such as kidsware, blankets, mats, tarpaulins, rice and food aid packages.
“All of this assistance comes from donators and partners of Rumah Zakat. Incidentally, the logistics and food needs in Lombok are indeed very urgent, while the prices of these goods in Lombok are already very high. So, this assistance will be very useful there, “said Andri.
4 (four) trucks assisted by Rumah Zakat were directly released by the Board of Trustees of Rumah Zakat, Yayan Somantri from the office of the West Java Representative on Jalan Turangga No. 33, Bandung, while 1 (one) other aid truck departed from Rumah Zakat Yogyakarta office. The relief truck is targeted to arrive in Lombok on Saturday, September 1, 2018.
“We hope, with the rehabilitation program and the assistance delivered, it can help the people of Lombok to get back to their feet and immediately be able to live their lives independently and powerfully,” Yayan said.
OPTIMIZE THE POTENTIAL OF EMPOWERED VILLAGES TO HELP RISE LOMBOK
In meeting the logistics and food needs of the people of Lombok, Rumah Zakat optimizes the potential in its assisted villages called Desa Berdaya. Like 6000 Kg of rice sent to Lombok this Tuesday (08/28), it turned out that the rice came from assisted farmers in Selokarto Empowered Village in Pecalungan District, Batang, Central Java.
“We bought rice to be sent to Lombok from a group of assisted farmers in Selokarto which is named Toko n’Deso. The goal is for the fostered citizens to be empowered at the same time so that they can feel part of the people concerned about the rise of the Lombok community, “explained Yayan.
