Last Friday night (09/06), The Rumah Zakat’s office in Yogyakarta branch suddenly crowded by young people from various regions in Indonesia. They look very enthusiastic in carrying large duffel bags. Some come from the city of Yogyakarta, some are from Sidoarjo, Malang, Bogor, Bandung, Solo, Semarang, Aceh, Sulawesi and Tanjung Pinang, Riau. Their professions also vary, there are students, teachers, consultants, analysts to doctors.
Yes, they are participants of Rona Nusantara Special Ramadan edition of Yogyakarta. “At first I saw postings on instagram Rumah Zakat, and I am interested to join this event because I feel this event is very positive and exciting,” said Imat, a participant from Sulawesi.
At 21.00 hrs, participants drove to Jatimulyo Village, Girimulyo District, Kulonprogo Regency, Yogyakarta by using BNPB truck. The journey is about 2 hours, the road is quite smooth but up and meandering with views of the forest and gardens on the left right.
Jatimulyo village is located on the hill, about 800 meters from sea level. The air is cold, making the participants have to tight their jacket. The majority of Jatimulyo residents are farm laborers, plantation workers and construction workers. The distance between residents’ homes is far apart, making it a challenge to be able to interact and unite them in one activity.
Participants started the activity on the first day (10/6) by holding educational activity in SDN 1 Sokomoyo, Jatimulyo Village. Participants are divided into 6 groups where each group will teach one class for 2 hours.
There are many ways of teaching used by Rona Nusantara participants, ranging from stories, games, races, to hand puppet games. There was laughter, the joyful shouting and excitement of every class the participants entered. Apparently, the material brought interesting to the children, and make them very excited.
“His brother is fun and funny,” said Ego Wicaksono, a grade 2 student at SDN 1 Sokomoyo.
In addition to educational activities, Rona Nusantara participants also distribute Superqurban corned beef to Jatimulyo Village residents. One of the beneficiaries is the family of Mrs. Siti Maemunah whose youngest child, Wulan, receives a nutritious standby assistance from Zakat House for 2.5 years.
“At the age of 2.5 years, Wulan experienced malnutrition. Her weight is less than her age. Alhamdulillah, met with Mrs. Murji from Rumah Zakat who provide assistance in the form of fruits and corned beef Superqurban to help improve nutrition Wulan, “said Mrs. Siti.
Thanks to the regular attention from Rumah Zakat by providing nutritional intake, Wulan’s weight finally began to increase.

On Saturday afternoon (10/6), the participants of Rona Nusantara held a fasting together and cinema village after tarawih.
“Tonight we watch together the movie Sang Kyai. Alhamdulillah, the residents are enthusiastic to follow the activities of starting breaking fast, praying in congregation, village cinema to flight lanterns, “said Samsul, Volunteers Rumah Zakat.
Breaking the fast together and village cinema is one way to gather citizens and interact with them. Given, the location of houses residents are far apart, making it difficult to socialize with them.
The next day (11/6), the participants of Rona Nusantara distributed Ramadhan package in the form of Family Lebaran, Lebaran Orphan Gift and Shird Qur’an.

Activity Rona Nusantara Special Ramadan edition of Yogyakarta closed with traveling to the Mudal River which is one tourist attraction in Kulonprogo. “The activity is very exciting, I recommend the young people to follow the activities of Rona Nusantara.
