Rumah Zakat work in Nepal began in April 2015 when the biggest disaster strike Nepal which left 9,000 people dead and 2.8 million in need of humanitarian aid. The 7.9 magnitude Ghorka earthquake that hits Nepal on Friday April 24th not only caused destruction but also widespread chaos across the country.
As a respond, Rumah Zakat sends 3 volunteers and arrived at Kathmandu, Nepal safely by 00:00 April 29th which they immediately did registration with the Nepal government before helping with humanitarian aid. While Rumah Zakat team in Indonesia April 30th morning loaded food aid and Superqurban to cargo Garuda Indonesia at Soekarno Hatta International Airport to be sent for Nepal earthquake victims.
