KAB. PANDEGLANG. Rumah Zakat launches Berkah Mart in Cikeusik Empowered Village of Cikeusik District, Pandeglang Regency, Banten Province on Wednesday (03/20).
This community-owned business entity (Bummas) was formed as one of the steps in strengthening empowerment and independence in Cikeusik Empowered Village. This mart established from the cikeusik community cooperative which was initiated by the Empowered Village facilitator.
“Initially cooperatives only had savings and loan services, Alhamdulillah now they can be developed into Bummas, Berkah Mart,” said the facilitator of Berdaya Desa Cikeusik, Aang Kunaepi.
According to Aang, a member of the cooperative, together with the 60 members, he hopes that the members of the cooperative will increase even more.
Not only getting community support, Berkah Mart also received support from the local government represented by Cikeusik Sub-District Head Dani Ramdani
“I invite Cikeusik community to become members of the cooperative to bless together and certainly shop at Berkah Mart,” said Dani Ramdhani.
Rumah Zakat is present in Cikeusik Village with the Desa Berdaya program since 2017, since that year community empowerment has been running.
The empowerment programs that have been implemented are economic empowerment programs through sheep and non-agro livestock, empowered cooperatives, health empowerment through revitalization of Posyandu and nutrition gardens, while education programs are through reading houses and learning houses, while in the environmental sector are implemented through waste banks.
Empowered Village (Desa Berdaya) in addition to Cikeusik has spread throughout Indonesia as many as 1,423 villages empowered, for Banten province there are around 40 empowered villages spread in Pandeglang, Serang, Lebak, Cilegon, Tangerang, and Rangkas Bitung.
