RUMAH ZAKAT’S ASSISTED FARMER GO INTERNATIONAL SHARING KNOWLEDGE ABOUT FARMING FOR UZBEKISTAN

JAKARTA. Pak Karya, one of the farmers assisted by Rumah Zakat in Mekarwangi Village, Lembang. During these 3 years he has been a chairman of the Bangkit Mandiri Farmer Group which was initiated and developed through Empowered Village program.

Today, Wednesday (15/08)  Karya went to Uzbekistan to share knowledge with Uzbek farmers about chilli cultivation which is a superior commodity in Bangkit Mandiri Poktan. Karya was chosen after selection of 100 Farmer Group in Lembang Subdistrict. Karya was chosen because assessed as a farmer who is an expert in chili cultivation, active in activities held by KBB’s agricultural service, always attending the agricultural bazaar by bringing results from the farms in his group and being able to coordinate assisted farmers to conduct regular training.

All of this is inseparable from the guidance and coaching held by Rumah Zakat which for three years continues to harmonize the Bangkit Mandiri Farmer Group starting from coaching and also holding a farmer field school program.

Later, Mr. Karya will visit 7 provinces in Uzbekistan and share the cultivation knowledge of chilli plants, although the plants that are cultivated in Uzbekistan are bitter red chili plants which in Indonesia are still rarely cultivated.

arya went to Uzbekistan with a team including Abdul Rahiim from the Artificial Insemination Center (BIB), Wahyu from the Center for Agricultural Training (BBPP), and Sri from BPPT Lembang.

“Insya Allah, I will be there for 2 months until October. Pray that we will safely reach our destination and return to our homeland safely and bring knowledge and opportunities for the progress of the Bangkit Mandiri Farmer Group  and Mekarwangi Villages, “said Karya.
