PALU. After 5 days of the earthquake and tsunami tragedy that struck Palu and Donggala. The rubble of buildings and houses of residents scattered on the ground, as well as the discovery of death victims continues to increase every day.
Rumah Zakat volunteer team helped evacuate areas affected by the disaster, one of which was in the Petobo area, Palu City, Central Sulawesi.
Amid the blazing sun the Volunteer spirit did not recede in the slightest in searching, helping and evacuating the victims.
“This time we will look for and evacuate the victims, in the petobo area, even though the weather is very hot, we keep spirit, that is our goal to be here, “said Nurmansyah Rumah Zakat Volunteer.
In addition to helping with the evacuation, Rumah Zakat has established the Main Post at Jabal Nur Mosque on Pandanjakaya Street 1 Rt 002 / Rw003 Kel. Pengawu, Tatana District, Palu City. Health service activities have been held and public kitchens serve refugees.
“Currently there are 19 evacuation teams, 11 medical teams, 2 ambulance units, 1 mobile clinic car unit that is ready to help survivors and transport those who have died. Please pray and support us,” Nurmansyah explained.
Based on BNPB data as of October 3, 2018, the impact of the Palu Earthquake and Tsunami caused 1,407 deaths, 2,549 serious injuries, thousands of damaged public facilities, 65. 733 damaged houses and 70,821 displaced people.
