ANYER, Wednesday (8/14). The Tsunami Respond Expedition finally entered the peak of the event as well as its final segment. The closing and holding of the event were accelerated to August 14 and 15, 2019 which was located at the Marbella Hotel, Anyer Beach, Kab. Serang, Banten and Merak, Cilegon City.
Previously the closing was planned to be held on August 18 but after some consideration, the event was decided to end sooner.
In this peak event, the activities were accompanied by the 58th anniversary of the Scout Day which presented more than 1000 elementary students who are members of the Boy Scouts. They were given knowledge about Tsunami Disaster preparedness. Not only counseling was given about the earthquake and tsunami, but these students were also given training in the simulation when the tsunami struck.
Volunteers of Rumah Zakat Action from Cilegon totaling up to 4 people, helped in the socialization of the boy scouts who were still sitting in school and also helped with the evacuate stimulation when a tsunami strikes. Like directing participants to a safe location on higher grounds by following the evacuation signs.
This event was attended directly by BNPB Head Doni Monardo, BMKG Head Mrs. Dwikorita Karnawati, and IABI chair Dr. Harkunti Pratiwi Rahayu. In the closing remarks, the Head of BNPB expressed his highest gratitude and appreciation for the role of volunteers who have participated in disaster management and increased preparedness.
