BANDUNG. The persecution of the Rohingyas is still happening. Recently the government of Myanmar deployed its troops to Rakhine Province, lots of people were killed as government troops stormed the villages.
The conflict between Rohingya ethnic and the majority of Myanmar’s Buddhist seem to be endless. Tens of thousands of Rohingya are displaced to other countries, including Indonesia.
In Myanmar, Rohingyas are not recognized as citizens. They have difficulty accessing health, education and decent housing. And the violence also continues.
As a form of Solidarity of Volunteers Rumah Zakat Bandung to the Muslim Rohingya on Sunday (03/09) volunteers of Rumah Zakat Bandung carry out the action of care Rohingya by doing oration, theatrical action and fundraising located in Car Free Day Bandung. The activity started from 09.00 – 10.00 WIB.
“Hopefully this action can make many people aware what happened to our brother in Myanmar,” said Nur Latifah, volunteer of Rumah Zakat Bandung.
The activity began with the oration first, and continued with a theatrical action on the atrocities of the Myanmar Army to the Rohingya Woman, while fundraising was keep going on. “Alhamdulilah the collected fund amounted to Rp743.000 which will abe distributed by Rumah Zakat for Rohingya ethnic in Myanmar.” Nur explained.
