SUMATERA BARAT. Some parts of Indonesia recently has been rained heavily caused flooding and even landslides, as happened in Pangkalan Lima Puluh Kota Regency, West Sumatra. Reported by bbc.com, Nasriyanto, Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency executor of Lima Puluh Kota explained, flooding occurred due to heavy rain which happened from Thursday (2/3) until Friday, resulting in Sumpur River overflowed and submerged hundreds of homes. Disaster emergency situation is now implemented in Lima Puluh Kota for 7 days until March 9, 2017.
To respond to emergency situations on Sunday (04/03), Volunteer of Rumah Zakat west Sumatra distributed food assistance to people affected Pangkalan Lima Puluh Kota Regency, West Sumatra. Food assistance distributed in the form of 250 Superqurban corned beef, rice, cooking oil, sardines, sugar, tea, and biscuits.
“The distribution made directly to the victims’ homes who were affected, Alhamdulillah distribution went smoothly,” said Volunteer Coordinator of Rumah Zakat West Sumatra, Herfandro Fazar.
