JAKARTA – On Tuesday, December 3, 2019, Rumah Zakat again held “Waqf Waves Roadshow” at the Grand Cempaka Hotel, Central Jakarta. The event was filled by renowned speakers including International Trainer, Ippho Santosa; Vanilla Hijab’s founder, Atina Maulia; and CEO of Rumah Zakat, Nur Efendi.
Roadshow of Waqf Wave in Jakarta is supported by ZIS Indosat, Vanilla Hijab, MTT Foundation, CIMB Niaga, DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, Go-Tix carries the theme “Miracle of Sustenance in Eternal Investment”. One of the waqf programs that is being rolled out in Jakarta is Waqf for Juara Cakung Elementary School, East Jakarta. The existence of school has so far been beneficial for underprivileged students because the cost of education there is free.
The waqf wave itself is a kindness movement to encourage Indonesian people to waqf (endowment). This waqf wave movement is motivated by the lack of waqf education in Indonesia. Plus at this time some people only know the unmoving waqf, which is identical to waqf land and buildings.
“In its rules, waqf can be in the form of money, gold, cars, and other goods that can be used for social purposes, even if waqf are managed properly by endowments organizations, the results of productive endowments can prosper the people of Indonesia,” said Nur Efendi.
This Wave Waqf in Jakarta is a series of Waqf Wave Roads which were previously held in Yogyakarta, Semarang, Surabaya, Solo, and Bandung. During the Waqf Road Road Show, several programs were successfully financed from the waqf including Juara Yogyakarta Elementary School, RBG Clinic, Semarang Juara Elementary School, and Quran House.
“Hopefully this Waqf Wave Movement can provide education and involvement of the Indonesian community towards waqf programs” added Nur Efendi.
Until the end of this year, Waqf Road Show will continue to be held in several cities namely Jakarta, Tangerang, Palembang, Cilegon, Aceh, Batam, and Medan.
