PONTIANAK, Saturday (07/09). The dry season this year is long and the impact is felt by many regions in Indonesia. As a result of this drought forests and terrain aridly burnt in Pontianak beginning early August and the city was shrouded in a haze that lasted for weeks.
Mist fog nearly faded and clear skies could be seen again but this afternoon (07/09), the land burned again at Sepakat 2 Ujung, Pontianak.
A total of 10 volunteers, Pontianak City BPBD along with the TNI and Rumah Zakat Action went down again to extinguish the burning land. The team moved to extinguish the burned land reaching the area near the residential area. Thank God, the fire was extinguished on the same day which lasted until 15.40 o’clock.
Not only that, but the countermeasures also continued. The team distributes masks in the ring 1 area which land often burned and was delivered to residents’ homes.
“Please pray for the team to keep moving and the team and residents of Pontianak to be given good health,” said Asrul as Branch Manager of Rumah Zakat Pontianak.
