BATU, Monday (10/21) – Update on the response of Rumah Zakat Action to the strong wind disaster that occurred on Saturday, October 19, 2019, at around 23.30 WIB. As of Monday yesterday (21/10) at 16:40 West Indonesia Time, three locations were affected by strong winds, namely in Sumberbrantas Village, Gunungsari Village, Sumbergondo Village, Kec. Bumiaji, Kota Batu, Prov. East Java.
The chronology of strong winds that until Sunday (10/20) the wind still blows strong. The whole area of Sumberbrantas Village was wrecked. Many fallen trees disrupted access to the road and threatened several houses and public facilities. Until now, electricity is still out and disrupting communication networks.
One person died by the name of Sodiq and several people suffered injuries and respiratory disorders. Damage to 20 houses in Sumbergondo Village, and damage to public facilities, communication networks, and electricity networks.
Rumah Zakat responds to immediately sent down 3 volunteer personnel, coordinated with related parties, distributed 200 cans of Superqurban, distributed soap, baby diapers, baby diapers toothbrushes and other logistics. Then set up a Fresh Post to distribute fruits.
The number of refugees currently recorded is 1216 inhabitants. The evacuation points are in the PB BPBD Kota Batu Post, Mayor’s Office House, Punten Village Hall, Tulungrejo Village Hall, and SDN Punten 01.
“The immediate needs include food for public kitchen, fresh post, warm post, eucalyptus oil, pampers all sizes, sanitary napkins, panties, baby powder, blankets, baby milk, mats, toothbrushes, soap, towels, wet wipes. We ask for all your help and prayers.” Said Izzatul Yazid, coordinator of Rumah Zakat Volunteer Center.
