GONOHARJO. Rumah Zakat invited the orpans children to learn history by visiting the Old City of Semarang, Sunday (26/11). The orphans of elementary and junior high school attended BBY (Sharing with Orphans) organized by Rumah Zakat. This activity facilitated 10 orphans from Gonoharjo Village, Limbangan district, Kendal to visit some historical places in Semarang City.
Along the way to the Old Town of Semarang, Rumah Zakat volunteers delivered several historical places and tourist attractions that pass such as Sam Poo Kong, Kampung Pelangi, Tugu Muda, Tawang Station, Blenduk Church, Lawang Sewu and several other buildings that became a sign of the Dutch colonial heritage.
In addition to learning history, children also learn about 3D design by visiting the Old Town Trick Art Building Museum Old City. The next visit was the Great Mosque of Central Java which is also as a place for them to pray dzuhur congregation.
Children enthusiastically follow this activity because most of them do not know the historical places in Semarang, Central Java. “I have never come to historical places in Semarang City. So happy I can visit it with Rumah Zakat. ” Said Isna, one of the orphans empowered by Rumah Zakat. Candra (8yo) boy, other children also chimed, “I’m so happy to visit around Semarang!”
BBY activities are closed with lunch at Ayam Bakar Wong Solo and Shopping at Supermarkets as Gift for the Orphans.
