PALU (24/10), Volunteers of Zakat Houses accompanied by expert developers conducted a comparative study of Temporary Shelter in Kel. Petobo, Kec. Palu Selatan, Palu City, after yesterday (11/23) met the Deputy Mayor of the city hammer Sigit Purnomo or more recognizable with ‘Pasha Ungu’ to request a recommendation for temporary shelter land.
“Shelter is an important need, because it must be made comfortable and suitable for use. Although the emergency must still pay attention to comfort,” said Herlan Wilandariansyah Coordinator of Rumah zakat’s Volunteer.
Herlan and his team of 6 people conducted a comparative study at the Central Java Village Shelter and Shelterwhich was built by the Ministry of PUPR (Public Works and Public Housing).
Currently there are 100 temporary shelters from the Central Java Government along with NGOs, one of which is Rumah Zakat which was built from 10-22 October 2018 with a size of 2.5 x 4 m. As for the Shelter which was made by the Ministry of PUPR, it has a different design with an area of 3.6 x 4.8 m per unit. The team examined materials, construction and design budgets used from the shelters.
“We will try to get good results …” said Mr. Helmi as a donor and contractor who will partner in the construction of Rumah Zakat Shelter.
Herlan was also hope that this is the beginning of people of Palu, Donggala, and Sigi to get a decent temporary place to live. The plan of Rumah Zakat will build 100 temporary housing units in the Petobo area.
