Pacitananku.com, BANDAR – Social and Zakat Institution, Rumah Zakat distributed clean water aid for drought in Ngagik Hamlet, Bandar Village, Pacitan. Hamlet Ngagik located on one of the slopes of the Pacitan mountains.
Most of the residents who live in Ngagik Hamlet are the victims of landslides that occurred several years ago. “Most of the people here because of the displacement of landslides down there, including me,” said Mbah Katinem one of Ngagik Hamlet residents.
Since Sunday (10/09) morning, residents started flocking to bring jerry cans, buckets and water containers to meet their water needs.
“The spring water started to get dried. It is about two months long we take water from the moor, in the early morning, it’s about three kilometers from here. Unfortunately the water there (in the well) is also running out and a bit smelly.” said Mbah Katinem while filling the water into his small jerry cans.
Other residents also expressed their gratitude to Rumah Zakat. “The water is clean, clear and fresh, we are very grateful to have been assisted, I am touched,” Sijum said glistening while carrying his own two large white buckets filled with water enthusiastically.
