BANDUNG. Wednesday (3/9), after succeeding in initiating nutrition improvement program on the western Indonesia, CSF, a member of RZ, attempts to re-initiate the similar program in the eastern Indonesia such as Halmahera, Flores, and West Papua.
The program is entitled “Gizi Anak Timur” or Eastern Indonesian Children Nutrition. Through this program, CSF aims to eradicate extreme hunger and alleviate the number of child mortality. In addition, this program also in accordance with one of Millennium Development Goals namely eradicates extreme poverty and hunger.
According to the basic health research conducted by Indonesia Health Ministry, in 2013, the percentage of malnutrition children was on 19.6 % and it was increased from 2010 which stood on 17.9%. Based on the factual data, the numbers of malnutrition children are found significantly in eastern Indonesia.
Therefore, CSF attempts to support Indonesian Government program and participate in MDGs through the implementation of Eastern Indonesian Children Nutrition program this year. To realize this program, CSF plans to distribute various supplementary foods and provide nutrition parenting program in the target areas.***
