PALU. Rumah Zakat volunteers continued to search and evacuate victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Central Sulawesi which occurred on 28 September.
After 11 days of the incident, Volunteers found another body in Petobo, Palu City, Central Sulawesi.
“The Petobo area is one of the locations that is the focus of the search for victims. We found 5 bodies today, “explained Nurmansyah, Volunteer of Rumah Zakat, Tuesday (10/10).
“The total number of bodies from 3 locations, namely Talise, Petobo and Talise beaches is around 161 bodies,” Nurmansyah added.
The condition of the old corpse in humid conditions resulted in some that had begun to rot. This condition is prone to cause illness, so the Rumah Zakat volunteers get vaccines from the medical team.
“In order not to get sick, we get a vaccine from a doctor. Pray for us to be healthy always, “said Nurmansyah.
Sludge and water deposits form marshes, making it difficult for heavy equipment and volunteers to evacuate and search.
