PEKANBARU. SD Juara Pekanbaru students which are under supervision of RZ (Rumah Zakat) won five championship at Pestra Rakyat poetry contest, it was held at Gedung Juang 45, Jalan Sudirman, Pekanbaru. 17 students of SD Juara Pekan Baru participated in various competitions, such as letter writing contest which is addressed to president regarding to the impact of smog in Pekanbaru. The other contests are coloring contest and poetry reading contest.
The amount of Student who participated on the contest are five students from 1st grade participated in coloring contest, seven students in poetry reading contest, and the other five in letter writing contest. The coloring contest was held on the 2nd floor of Gedung Juang, poetry reading contest was held in the yard of the building and letter writing contest was not held on the spot, but the letter had been sent to the committee by email before the day of contest.
On that contest, three students won 1st, 2nd and 3rd for poetry contest, and two students won 1st and 2nd runner up in the same contest. The students who in 1st, 2nd and 3rd place entitled to bring a trophy, money coaching, and a certificate. As for the runner up, they entitled to bring school bag and a certificate.
“The students seemed very happy participated in the contest, above all, they won five championships, I hope it can motivate the other students to engrave another great achievements” said Heni Kusrini, Learning Support Unit of SD Juara Pekanbaru, friday (6/11).
Besides being a winner, this contest is an opportunity for students to enhance their interests and talents. “Alhamdulilah, I’m happy. Finally, after three times has been participating in poetry contest, this is my first time become a winner. This victory is a motivation for me to participate in another contest”said Ayunda, 3rd winner of Poetry Reading contest from 6th grade student of SD Juara Pekanbaru. “We don’t seek for championship, championship is a bonus, the important point is giving a chance to students in expressing their potential talent” stated suriksodi saputro, the head master.
