KALIMANTAN. Entikong is Indonesia’s outermost region bordering on Sarawak, Malaysia, located in Sanggau Regency, West Kalimantan, a district inhabited by native Dayak tribes which still need to empower one of them in the education sector.
Rumah Zakat through Social Expedition activities in cooperation with Youcan Indonesia provides school shoes assistance for students of SDN 13 Puntikayan, Puntikayan Village, Entikong District Sanggau Regency, West Kalimantan. There are 63 students in this school, divided into 4 classrooms. Two classes are separated using cabinets as a classroom divider. Class 1 and Class 2 and Class 3 and 4 are in the same room.
Not only have that, many students use sandals to school. Some of the students use broken shoes.
“I do not wear everyday shoes to school, because my shoes are broken. I use shoes up to grade 3 only “, says Peter Revaldo 5th grade students.
Therefore the children in this School are so happy when they receive new shoes and are more excited for school.
“Everyday wear shoes, but it’s a broken. I love to have new shoes. Thanks to them (donators) so that they will always be protected by God Almighty, “said Marcelus (9th) 4th grade student.
