PEKANBARU. Since mid-March last, 9th grade students of SMP Juara Pekanbaru are undergoing exams. Although there is a return to repeat and depositing Quran recitation, they remain viable. Smile creeping into their faces when entering the last surah that they are deposited to the teacher.
SMP Juara Pekanbaru targeting the students to be able to memorize Juz 28, 29, and 30. In doing so, they will get a certificate of memorizing Quran at the graduation corresponding to their memorizing capabilities.
The students have to memorize a grace period ranging from 7th grade, every three months, the school also held Quran graduation. SMP Juara Pekanbaru specialized Tahfidz and Tahsin learning as much as 4 times a week and learning Al-Quran 3 hours of instruction per week. It makes the students motivated and has the desire and the spirit of competing in memorizing Quran.
Prior to memorize, they were also told how to read properly so that the verses they memorize also recorded appropriately. “Alhamdulillaah, I am happy seeing their passion in memorizing and reading Quran, may be a light for them and happiness for their parents,” said Fitriyah Misdian, Quran teacher of SMP Juara Pekanbaru.
