BANJARMASIN. Two months ago, dozens of housewife from Alalak Selatan Village were shocked by the attendance “Mr. Takakura” in their village. Takakura is a basket functioned to process household waste into compost found by Japanese named Takakura.
At that time, they learned how to process and manage waste as an effort of environmental preservation. With simple equipments such as plastic basket, husks, cardboard, rags and compost, they could process household waste into organic fertilizer easily.
Moreover, some of housewives suggested to present nutrition farm in their village and utilize organic fertilizer processed by Takakura to fertilize vegetables plated in farm.
“By Takakura method, organic household waste can be processed into useful thing thus it could reduce the volume of waste in an area and we can also utilize it for fertilizing plants and vegetables planted in our yard,” Asmaryadi, ICD Facilitator, said. ***
