PALEMBANG. The term Kubu is a Malay exonym ascribed to mobile, animist peoples (Orang Batin Sembilan, Orang Rimba or Anak Dalam) who live throughout the lowland forests of Southeast Sumatra. There are two kinds of Kubu People here namely Kubu Rawas and Kubu Gumay.
The natural condition here is dry due to water sources drying up during dry season. The Superqurban expedition this month, RZ and volunteers with delegation of Social Department distributed 200 cans of Superqurban corned to 40 families who live at Kubu Rawas and Kubu Gumay.
RZ expected that Superqurban corned could fulfill their nutrient intake and support the government in eradicating extreme hunger in remote areas.
‘We expect that this year will be more donor who participate in Superqurban program so there will also be more beneficiary who benefits Superqurban next year,” Gustam Sunardi, Branch Manager of RZ Palembang, said. ***
