Yemen

About 85,000 children under the age of five died of starvation in Yemen. Based on UN data on acute malnutrition, more than 1.3 million children have suffered from acute malnutrition since the conflict began in 2014.

The conflict in Yemen has made the country the poorest country in the Middle East. The violence has resulted in many casualties and massive migration. Civilians bear the brunt of the burden with 22.2 million Yemenis now in need of humanitarian assistance. Without help, more lives will be lost due to disease, lack of food, water and shelter.

Through the kindness of Rumah Zakat donors, food aid, warm meals and clean water was distributed and helped 7,250 beneficiaries in 2020. Also, in Ramadan 1440H, the Ramadan package assistance for Yemenis has been distributed in the first week of Ramadan.

“As many as 2000 food packages from public kitchens and 100 logistic packages have been distributed in Shan’a, Yemen,” said Andri Murdianto, Rumah Zakat Crisis Center.

Hopefully, this assistance can help the citizens of Yemen and together let us help more!
