MYANMAR. Monday (04/09) “Do not fight, all of you can have it,” said Ibrahim, Volunteers of Rumah Zakat in Myanmar as the children scramble to get candy brought by Andri, Coordinator of Humanitarian Team of Rumah Zakat for Myanmar.
Although already warned, Rohingya children in Karamat Para Village, Sittwe city is still just excited to get candy. Because their access to their village exit is limited by the authorities, they are having trouble getting food from the city, including the sweet snack.
After sharing the candy, the humanitarian team of Rumah Zakat also played gangsing (Top Spining) with the children. “The kids here are good at playing gangsing, I just learned from them,” Andri said.
Some of the children seemed enthusiastic when Rumah Zakat humanitarian team gave them Superqurban rendang and Superqurban corned beef, even though they are not really familiar with the food.
“They very rarely eat meat, especially meat in cans like this. Hopefully they are happy and like the taste,” said Andri.
