BANJARNEGARA. (02/04), no one expected, apart from conditions that were quite difficult to access, it turns out that Gumelem Kulon village in Susukan Subdistrict, Banjarnegara Regency has the potential of Coconut Sugar which is quite promising to improve the welfare of the residents of the village.
Today, Tuesday (02/04), BUMMAS (Community Owned Enterprises) Maju Lestari initiated by Rumah Zakat Facilitator was inaugurated by the Deputy Regent of Banjarnegara, H. Samsudin, S.Pd, M.Pd.
The event was also attended by Branch Manager of Rumah Zakat Semarang, Head of the Indakop Service, Head of the Health Office , Susukan Sub-District Chief, Gumelem Kulon Village Chief and dares farmers and local residents.
BUMMAS Maju Lestari is engaged in the production of Coconut Crystal Sugar with 44 temporary members. With assistance from Sarwin, Rumah Zakat facilitator in Gumelem Kulon Village, the potential of Coconut Sugar begins to show its development. In accordance with the tagline, “Global Ndesa Sugar” Coconut Sugar Production BUMMAS Maju Lestari can export its products abroad.
The initial formation of BUMMAS Maju Lestari was Sarwin’s concern as a farmer child, as well as his friends who were also farmers, because sugar prices were very unstable and tended to be controlled by collector.
Meanwhile the production capacity of BUMMAS Maju Lestari Crystal Palm Sugar is 2 up to 5 tons per month, with a price of 14,000 per kilo from farmers and with an average turnover of 40 million per month.
“Alhamdulillah, our products have been exported to America, and the price of sugar we buy from farmers can also be stable now,” said Serwin. Now BUMMAS Maju Lestari is also developing its retail products which will be marketed domestically under the trademark Dares Coconut Palm Sugar.
