YOGYAKARTA. Biodiversity in Indonesia is abundant. There are leaves, roots, and stems of plants that use as a medicine. It is also nutritious as a natural dye that is safe and friendly to the environment.
One use of natural dyes is the Ecoprint technique. The ecoprint technique is a coloring technique using natural dyes derived from leaves, stems, roots, and fruits. With this one go green trick Rumah Zakat through Indra Suryanto, Empowered Village Facilitator of Rumah Zakat in Karangkajen Village together with Mrs. Meta Nuci, Ecoprint training trainer held Ecoprint training at the workshop of Ecoprint Seyegan, Yogyakarta.
6 mothers, from the Ibu Hebat group, from Brontokusuman, conducted Ecoprint training on Thursday, (28/09). The dye materials used for this training consist of various kinds of the leaf, including jati, jambu, spruce, distance and some other leaves attached to the cloth as media. After steaming for 2 hours, the dyestuff from the leaves began to release the color substance. Furthermore, the fabric is left cold. Finally got different motives.
“All excited, and one more thing that makes mothers excited is October 12-16 they will have the opportunity to show off their work at the exhibition at JEC,” said Indra.
