JAKARTA. Cita Sehat Foundation and Rumah Zakat held a healthy exercise and health education to mark World Cancer Day in the target area of ICD Pejaten Timur, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta.
Residents have gathered from 07.00 pm to attend a series of healthy exercise activities as the opening activity. The mothers are very eager to follow the movement of the music rhythm and the gymnastic instructor, exciting gymnastic boast the spirit of residents.
Healthy Gymnastics ended at 09.00 am. After a break for awhile, shortly the participants back prepared to listen to health education, with the theme of cervical and breast cancer.
Health education materials delivered by Anyta Ekaningsih, Public Health of Cita Sehat Jakarta, the event attended by 36 participants, The purpose of counseling is to improve knowledge of participants especially woman about cancer and early detection of cancer. Material presented is a basic knowledge of differences of cancer and tumor, definition, symptoms, risk factors, prevention and early detection of breast and cervix cancer.
“Based on data from the Ministry of Health, in 2017 is predicted nearly 9 million people died of cancer and will continue to increase up to 13 million people per year in 2030. In Indonesia the incidence of cancer is also quite high, especially cervix and breast cancer,” said Anyta.
The participants were very enthusiastic to listen the health education this time, many of those who asked questions about cancer, especially concerning how to prevent and early detection of cervix and breast cancer.
“Efforts of cervical cancer screening can be done using Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA test) and for breast cancer by education of Breast Self-examination (BSE) and the Clinical Breast Examination (SADANIS),” said Anita to one questioner.
Following great enthusiasm from the community, Cita Sehat Foundation together with Rumah Zakat planned to hold a health action on early detection of cancer in the next week to carry IVA test and SADANIS in RZ’s RBG Clinic East Jakarta.
“I am very pleased to take part today, because after gymnastics there is health counseling about cancer. The knowledge is very important, very good especially because I am a mother who must also maintain health. I learned more about cancer after following this activity.
