Responding to the forest and land fire disasters that occurred, since last August Rumah Zakat has carried out various Disaster Care Actions by assigning 100 volunteers in 6 Provinces experiencing Forest and Land Fires; West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, South Sumatra, Jambi, and Riau.
Today, Wednesday (09/25) Rumah Zakat dispatched a fleet of Oxygen Cars and logistical fleets carrying oxygen, medicines and N-95 masks and returning to assign additional volunteers to carry out Disaster Care Action to affected locations.
Rumah Zakat also provides smoke emergency posts, fresh posts, logistics equipment, ambulances, oxygen cars, health services, and has distributed 15,200 masks in Pontianak, Pekanbaru, Palembang, Palangkaraya, Palembang, Banjarmasin, Medan, and Padang.
“We will continue to strive to provide the best treatment for people exposed to smoke. Disaster management is not only the government’s responsibility, but we also have the obligation to provide solutions to this smoke disaster,” said Nur Efendi, CEO of Rumah Zakat.
Efendi added, air quality has worsened, allowing Rumah Zakat to provide a Safe House for residents that were affected by the smoke haze in 5 locations namely 2 Safe Houses in Pekanbaru, 1 Safe House in Pontianak and 1 Safe House in Jambi.
