MELUWITING. After doing construction for 3 months, finally Rumah Zakat together with Yayasan Masjid Nusantara (YMN) launched Masjid Taman Surga on Saturday (04/02).
“RZ and Yayasan Masjid Nusantara (YMN) launched was glad to build a mosque in the village of Meluwiting. Hopefully this mosque became public momentum to rise and thrive in society,” said Hamzah Patdri, director of the Yayasan Masjid Nusantara (YMN).
There was a special impression during the launching of this mosque in Meluwiting Lembata island, East Nusa Tenggara, that the construction of the mosque there became a byword of Lembata society because construction was completed in just three months. “Usually the construction of mosques or churches even though in Lembata could take up to a dozen years with self-help from the community,” said one resident. Interestingly, not only Muslims, non-Muslim citizens also looks enthusiastic to see the launching of the mosque.
The launching was also attended by Mr. Thomas, representing the district head, Chairman of Omesuri sub-district and head of Meluwiting village.
“Thanks for the contribution of Rumah Zakat and Yayasan Masjid Nusantara that has built a mosque in the village of Meluwiting. We really hope DKM (board) of mosque will be able to manage the mosque well,” said Mr. Thomas.
Masjid Taman Surga Meluwiting is the result of joint project through www.sharinghappiness.org. “Thanks to all the donors who have contributed to this project. Hopefully we can accomplish more goodness projects together,” said Nur Efendi, CEO RZ.
