CONVENTIONAL BIOTECHNOLOGY PRODUCT OF SMP JUARA PEKANBARU

PRODUK BIOTEKNOLOGI KONVENSIONAL ALA SMP JUARA PEKANBARU (2)PEKANBARU. Last week students of class IX Istanbul SMP Juara Pekanbaru had the task to conduct experiments to make conventional biotechnological products such as tempe and fermented food (tape). Students were assigned to practice independently in their homes, then the students had to present the result into report on power point slides that showing the photos and video recordings during an experiment.

After the experiment, this morning (21/02), a student of class IX Istanbul presented their conventional biotechnology experiment results that have been made previously. Most of all seven groups of class have made tape, some used cassava as the basic ingredients and other used black sticky rice as the basic ingredients.

“Through these experiment, we expected the students can get better understanding about the concepts of biotechnology and its role in human life.” Said Miss Yuliza Fitri, science teacher of SMP Juara Pekanbaru.
“In addition to evaluat the process and results of the experiment, the students’ ability in using technology is also assessed, seen from the presentation and video that they show.” he concluded.
