BALIKPAPAN. To support environmental preservation process in Manggar Integrated Community Development (ICD), East Balikpapan, RZ invited local residents of Manggar ICD to participate in waste management training.
In this opportunity, they learned how to process and manage waste using Takakura method with simple equipments such as plastic basket, husks, cardboard, rags and compost as an effort of environmental preservation.
There were dozens of local people who participated in this training and most of them were housewives. The material was delivered by a member of environmental hall, Salmah. “Through Takakura Method they could manage household waste easily,” she said.
“By Takakura method, organic household waste can be processed into useful thing thus it could reduce the volume of waste in an area,” Salmah added. ***
