PONTIANAK. Wednesday (21/1), RZ Pontianak fielded some volunteers to implement Disaster Care Action in Lesabela Village, Ledo District, Bengkayang, West Kalimantan.
There are 4 flooded villages in Ledo namely Lesabela, Jesape, Serangkat and Dayung. However, the aid is centralized in Lesabela since the access to the other villages is cutting off.
Many victims of flood disaster in Lesabela choose to stay at their house. Thus, the volunteers visited each house to submit the aid. In this opportunity, the volunteers had successfully distributed 225 kilograms of rice, 12 cartons of instant noodle, 15 cartons of mineral water, 402 cans of Superqurban, and 62 bottles of vitamin.
“There are 280 families which live here. However, we’ve recorded that only 8 families that choose to flee and the rest is trying to stay at their home,” Hassa, Project Officer of RZ Volunteer, said. ***
