JAKARTA. Nur Efendi, CEO of RZ, said that RZ aims to distribute assistance to 5 million people in 2015. This number is increasing from the previous that reach 4.5 million beneficiaries. The point was stated by Efendi when he visited JPNN in Graha Pena Building, Jakarta, Wednesday (5/11).
According to Efendi, RZ has successfully distributed Zakat, Infaq, Shadaqa, and other humanitarian funds over the regions in Indonesia and other countries in conflict such Palestine. “Alhamdulillah, we have distributed the collected funds based on the prepared programs such as education programs, health programs, and economic empowerment programs,” he said.
Efendi claimed that Indonesia has 270 trillion rupiah as the potential of Zakat. “We have to work harder in order to grab all the potential,” he said.
Efendi added that lack of socialization is one of the problems faced by zakat institutions in Indonesia. “Many people don’t understand the zakat. Our responsibility to educate them about Zakat, Infaq, and Shadaqa,” he said.***
