BANDUNG. (11/6) Rumah Zakat was part of the 2019 International World Zakat Forum Conference which was held on 5-7 November 2019 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Bandung. In addition to participating as a speaker, Rumah Zakat also presents an empowerment booth with the theme “Digital Philanthropy.”
“We present products from the Desa Berdaya (Empowerment Village) such as coffee, handicrafts, snacks, etc.,” said CEO of Rumah Zakat, Nur Efendi. “In addition, we also introduce various digital donation platforms that we have, such as the Web donation (www.rumahzakat.org/donasi), lelangbintang.com, sharinghappiness.org and infak.id,” he added.
Another interesting thing at the Rumah Zakat booth is having a barista who mixes coffee, a product directly from Desa Berdaya and VR (Virtual Reality) facilities.
“On average many people visit wanting to try VR and taste our coffee,” said Aini, PIC Booth Rumah Zakat at the World Zakat Forum. “They were quite enthusiastic when using VRBOX and started watching empowerment activities in a different way,” she added.
VR is indeed one of the new experiences that Rumah Zakat provides for donors and the general public who want to see empowerment activities in Desa Berdaya. With VR, users can interact with existing environments in the virtual world that are simulated in the form of videos, so that users feel they are in that environment.
“This is one form of transparency. The hope is that the community will get a real picture of the empowerment programs that we have rolled out in the Empowerment Village, which are funded by the Zakat, Infaq, Alms, and Waqf funds they have secured,” Efendi explained. “VR facilities, we first introduced at this World Zakat Forum. In the future, we want to be able to present VR facilities in all Zakat Rumah branch offices,” he said.
